It took us 2 months of digging, washing, sorting, dividing, drying, and storing to bring you our finalized list of the dahlia varieties that we have. It’s been a wild and fun adventure for sure, and we know next year will be gorgeous.
I first started growing dahlias for fun a few years ago when a friend of mine had some to share. We only had our first “original orange dinnerplate” for which I still don’t have an official name. But the pollinators loved it, and its long stems were topped with pale crimson, salmon, sunset hues every year. Another pink dinnerplate came in as well, name unknown as well, and I was pretty happy with these two in the garden. For a while.
Then the sales began. If you know what I mean, I got mesmerized by different varieties and textures, types, hues, sizes and variations and our collection. Year 2022 was our first official year of growing many varieties (2 locations). In 2023, we moved to a 3rd location as well to grow those mystery varieties for which the labels and tags flew away. Once they bloomed, we tagged those as well, and we now have our complete list.
Dahlia Sale
The list below includes the varieties that we will most likely include in our sale, coming up spring 2024 (closer to March/April), in alphabetical order. Stay tuned!
Photographs
I currently have photographs for 99% of these but as you can imagine, it would take a few days to upload everything. For now, feel free to peruse the names and google the images. Shop will be updated in the next few months.
