Find out all the beautiful varieties of dahlias we are growing this year in our garden!

Hi friends! News here is I’ve officially hopped on the dahlia bandwagon. In fact, I was hooked last year but this spring are when most of the sales are happening and I’m slowly but eagerly adding to my collection. I wanted to show you the dahlias we are growing (at least the ones we’ve bought so far) and I’m hoping to add more to the list.

Dahlias We Are Growing and Photos

The photos that follow are not mine, but taken from the sites where they were purchased (with permission). I will list the company associated with the purchased tuber (that also owns the photograph) in the pictures that follow.

Where To Buy Dahlias

There are so many places currently to buy dahlias. I prefer to buy from small farms because I truly love to support small family operated businesses over large box stores (plus the quality of the tubers are so much higher). Earlier this year, however, I didn’t know about the smaller farms and bought mostly from the bigger businesses. Now I have a mixture I’m very happy with, and will certainly look out for smaller farms to support when I buy again. There are always sales happening and I truly can’t help myself. Their varieties are gorgeous and I just love working with smaller businesses whenever possible.

The only caveat about smaller farms is that they sell out in minutes, but that’s a risk I’m willing to take. It’s worth it! Just get your blinders on, get on the website early, refresh as soon as they say the shop opens, have your list ready and go for it.

That said, if you’re looking for a variety that is difficult to find and sells out quickly, you can certainly buy from bigger businesses. I’ve listed these below also for ease of purchase. These so far have been my favorites but I’m almost positive I’ll find more.
